I start new paintings all the time.  To start a new painting is joyful to me.
But to see a painting through– that’s different; that’s hard.
And so my little house is bursting at the seams with these things.
I used to consider them failed attempts; now I’m learning to think of
them as studies or experiments.  They open up into all sorts
of unexpected discoveries and ideas and directions.
